My Therapeutic Approach and Experience

I believe in maintaining a collaborative relationship with my clients—working together to identify the challenges you would like to work on, the methods and approaches you are comfortable with, and developing a treatment plan together. This is your healing process. I will do my best to offer support that meets your needs to the best of my experience, but I am also interested in hearing your feedback regarding what is going well for you or not so that I may readjust to meet your needs.

While utilizing Dance/Movement Therapy interventions is voluntary, it does inform my lens for healing — connecting mind and body. Dance has been a significant part of my life and has taught me a lot about understanding the way my body works and how I use it as a tool to relate to myself and to the world. It is my goal to help translate that into an experience that is meaningful to you.

Professional Background and Experience

I have a Masters in Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am licensed in the state of Washington to provide mental health counseling as a LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker) and addiction counseling as a SUDP (Substance Use Disorder Professional). I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and am currently in the training and credentialing process to be certified in Dance/Movement Therapy.

I have a background working in domestic violence and sexual assault centers, inpatient mental health facilities, and in residential and outpatient treatment centers for dual addiction/mental health.

In my free time, I love to travel internationally, I continue to dance, have recently taken up Krav Maga, and spend lots of time with my 3 cats!
